Cercle Brugge has made some changes to the technical staff. To guarantee long-term stability, the team around coach Yves Vanderhaeghe will receive extra support.
After the departure of Radhi Jaïdi in August to become head coach at Espérance Sportive de Tunis, Cercle has been looking for an additional assistant coach in recent weeks. With Miron Muslic, the Groen-Zwart now have their replacement in hand. The 39-year-old Austrian former footballer has signed a contract through the end of this season. As a coach, Muslic has been active in recent years as an assistant and head coach for several Austrian teams.
Jimmy De Wulf is also new to Yves Vanderhaeghe's technical staff, although the word 'new' may not be entirely appropriate. Jimmy has been working with Cercle since 2014 and has even been employed full-time as the U23 coach since 2020. The ex-Cercle player is now promoted to assistant coach under Yves Vanderhaeghe.
Cercle Brugge and Thomas Buffel had a conversation this week which showed that Thomas' existing commitments outside Cercle, including as an assistant coach at the Belgian U21 and starting his Pro License course, are no longer compatible with a full-time role as an assistant in support of Yves Vanderhaeghe. Consequently, Cercle Brugge took the decision to end the collaboration with Thomas Buffel. Cercle Brugge would like to thank Thomas for his efforts and wish him every success in his further career.
